In a surprising collaboration that defies traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Revealed

According to the authorized statement, "An unusual encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of prohibited practices and fearsome changes echo through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden sect.

The questline concentrates on "peculiar tests and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Changes

The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Additional Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana together with several artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Third Free Story Content

This patch also introduces the game's third no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
